Cheryl Williams is an award-winning author, dedicated nurse, wife, and mother whose passion for the arts has been a guiding light throughout her life. Her creative journey began at the age of four and became a source of healing and strength, especially during difficult times following her mother’s stroke.
In 2018, Williams released her debut poetry collection, A Collection of Poems: A Journey Through Life, a reflective work exploring the highs and lows of the human experience. The book earned her the Top Female Author 2019 Award in the poetry category from The Author’s Show, recognizing her heartfelt contribution to contemporary poetry.
In 2022, she published her first children’s book, A Lesson A Day: A Child’s Way. This imaginative poetry collection features animals and objects imparting uplifting messages of kindness, resilience, hope, and self-love. The book won First Place in the Bookfest Book Awards and was prominently featured on a billboard in Times Square. It is lovingly dedicated to children around the world.
Drawing from her experiences as an elementary school nurse, Williams released her third book in the summer of 2024: The Brightest Star that Shines Tonight. This touching story helps children navigate grief and loss, offering gentle support and emotional empowerment. She recently donated copies of the book to Camp Good Mourning, a Long Island-based bereavement camp for children and teens coping with the death of a parent or sibling.
Cheryl is also a passionate philanthropist, donating her books to libraries, shelters, and schools across Long Island, the broader United States, and internationally.
Beyond the written word, Williams finds joy in music and singing—forms of artistic expression that, like her writing, offer comfort and connection in a complex world.
